THIS IS AN APPRECIATION TEXT POST FOR MY DAD.

Ok, so i don’t think i can say this enough. He is definitely the SOLE reason i love all the bands and the kind of music i love. If he wasn’t my daddy-o, i would be just like everyone else and like mainstream.

My dad has a pretty substantial record collection made up of obscure punk bands and other bands from NOFX to HUSKER DU to THE SMITHS to the DEAD KENNEDYS and EVERYTHING in between. Sometimes we spend nights going through them and listen to them. It’s those moments that make me love him so much for being such a cool dude.

I thank him for pretty much shoving The Pixies down my throat since i was about 6 years old. I thank him for always having music on. I thank for sitting with me a watching music specials on TV. I thank him for detesting most rap, hip hop and r’n’b (unless it’s good shit from the 90s.) I thank him for not listening to mainstream music.

I’m basically thanking him for being my dad. He’s the best.

And i’d die if he ever saw or read this. I will never admit to liking most of the band he likes because it will just add to his pretentiousness (he can be some what of a ass sometimes lol).
